We've completed the maintenance window and are working to bring PyPI fully back online. Ultimately a portion of the maintenance could not be completed, but we have made provisions to do so without further downtime.

The first portion of our migrations have successfully completed and we are initiating the second larger migration. We anticipate 60 minutes until PyPI is fully available again.

Migrations are back in progress after upgrading our database storage. We'll have stronger estimates after the first few large migrations complete, but anticipate 60-90 minutes until we're fully online again.

We hit a stumbling block that caused our migrations to rollback when our database instance ran out of temporary storage space. We're provisioning additional storage space now and will begin executing the migrations again when that completes. Once we begin that process we'll update with new estimates.

We will be performing maintenance on PyPI to complete a large refactor of the database schema. Package installation and the JSON API will continue to be accessible, but uploads and the XMLRPC API will be unavailable.
